Gold Fields Ghana Foundation Sweeps 2025 SSI Awards with Eight Honours

The Gold Fields Ghana Foundation has demonstrated its leadership in sustainable development, emerging as the organisation earning the most honours at the 2025 Sustainability and Social Investment (SSI) Awards. The Foundation secured eight prestigious awards, including the ultimate recognition as SSI Foundation/Company of the Year, cementing its reputation as one of Ghana's most impactful and community‑driven organisations.

The awards were in recognition of the Foundation's impactful socio-economic development programmes that continue to drive transformational change in local communities. With a strong focus on healthcare, education, agriculture, infrastructure, and water and sanitation, the Foundation has consistently invested in initiatives that improve lives and build resilient communities. The Foundation was recognised as:

• SSI Foundation/Company of the Year (Ultimate award)
• SSI Team of the Year
• Best Company in Supporting Sports Development (Takwa and Abosso Stadium)
• Best Company in Supporting Health Facilities (Group Legacy Programme in Health)
• Best Company in Clean Water Provision (Small-town water facilities for Badukrom, Huniso, Akoon and Fiaseman Senior High School)
• Best Health Awareness Programme (Community medical outreach programmes)
• Best Company in Supporting Education (Scholarship programme)

In addition, the Foundation's Executive Secretary, Abdel-Razak Yakubu, was awarded the Sustainability Professional of the Year. A well-deserved recognition of his dedication and leadership in advancing sustainability initiatives that benefit our communities.

Since its establishment in 2004, the Gold Fields Ghana Foundation has been at the heart of sustainable socio–economic development in the host communities of the Tarkwa and Damang mines. To date, the Foundation has invested over US$109.5million in projects spanning education, health, water and sanitation, agriculture and infrastructure to build stronger communities, brighter futures and lasting impact.
